đź’Ż Dopesplay Lapdock

I have about 1000 NUCs in the field, and where these are installed, it is not a place that I can just set up a keyboard, mouse and monitor! I went looking for a product that could help me with this, aside from a tiny keyboard and those foldy monitors.

I found the Dopesplay Lapdock and its been a lifesaver. I chose the one attached for a few reasons, but here are the pros and cons:

Pros:

  • Full size HDMI
  • Cheap! (I got it on Black Friday for $169, list looks like $209)

Cons:

  • Doesn’t charge over USB-C

No jokes about the state of my desk…

I’ll take the trade off of needing a standard basic 12v charger to not have to locate a mini HDMI all the time! I carry a regular USB-C cable and a regular ole HDMI cable in my bag, and this little thing has HOURS of battery life. Its lightweight and really fits the bill. Highly recommended. Additionally, you can plug in your IODD Virtual Optical Disc Drive to the lapdock so its all right there in front of you.

I have it on good authority that when I shared this with my TAM, it quickly rippled through Scale and is now essentially “required equipment”. If that ain’t a resounding endorsement, I don’t know what is!
